    Tom’s surprise trip to Pai!

We just came home from four amazing days in Pai. As I mentioned to you guys earlier, Tom turned 32 years on the 9th of February, so I wanted to surprise him and take him somewhere special. Pai is so beautiful, surrounded by stunning waterfalls, hot springs and beautiful green scenery as far as the eye can see. Moreover, there is so many nice places to stay up there.

I spent hours deciding on hotels and ended up choosing three different ones for our period of stay, and it was the best decision ever. All our rooms and sceneries were perfect, and all of them with a different vibe. I ended up choosing Yoma Hotel for our first night, Puripai Villa for the second and finished up with a private pool villa at The Quarter.

Starting the first day of 32 with a single bean coffee at Pai Island Resort. Might be the best coffee ever.

I’ve been reading a lot of negative stuff about Pai having changed so much during the past decade, and that the tourist visiting the city are mainly hippies or people seeking drugs and parties. I can definitely see where people are coming from, but the only irritating thing I noticed was the amount of Chinese tourists cutting in line and not really understanding English. The town certainly has hipster/hippy vibe, and I can understand that people are reacting to the fact that at least 50% of the food they sell along the walking street and coffee shops are foreign food, but hey at least the people selling it are Thai people.

Birthday Boy! ❤ Big thanks to Carrot On The Moon for the delicious cake delivery!!

Wine and pasta at puripai villa pai

We pretty much chilled at our hotel the whole day during Tom’s birthday. The food at PuriPai villa is SO GOOD!

In my opinion Pai was pretty quiet and chill, everything closes at 10 pm, except a couple of bars out of walking street, but nothing loud. I think it is all about where you stay, as we had pretty much no noise at all at any of the places we stayed. I could imagine staying at the hostels along and outside walking street could be a bit noisy though. Because you do want to go to bed early so you can catch that beautiful sunrise! I wish I got to see the untouched pai 10 years ago, but I would definitely urge everyone to make a visit and judge for themselves.

Our days in Pai was perfect from sunrise to sunset. I’m so happy that Tom liked his surprises! Though I think we both have to go on a major diet as we pretty much ate all the time. Cake, wine, beers, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, NOODLES, Pai is all about the delicious food! Who am I kidding… Wonderfruit is right around the corner!

A rainy new year’s in Koh Samui

We had an awesome time in Koh Samui during new year’s! We didn’t get all the sunshine we were hoping for, but it was definitely raining a lot less than I had expected… We stayed from the 30th to the 3rd and had two days where we encountered rain, but only for short periods of time. I’m so sad to see everyone stranded over there in both storm and flood now. Seems like we got out of there just in time.

    Nikki Beach party kids!

We went a bunch of us and rented a Villa in Chaweng over New Years. Once the rest of the crowd went back home Tom and me moved to Bo Phut and stayed at The Sunday Sanctuary not far away from the fisherman village. The fisherman village has so many nice eateries and drink spots so make sure you get time to go there for a hangout if you have time. New year’s was more hectic. We went all the way to Nikki beach for the countdown, which was nice until it started pouring down. So glad we didn’t go to Phangan for the full moon party!

    2 0 1 7… Hey babe!! I love you!!

So chill at The Sunday Sanctuary Hotel and Spa

Loved this hotel, so clean and simple. And cheap!!

    Welcoming 2017 the right way

Going to and staying in Koh Samui can get pretty expensive during this time of the year. Cut your costs by renting a motorbike. It costs 150-250 baht a day and you don’t have to bargain with the taxis that charge rip-off prices. Unless you’re drinking… then don’t drive. And expect to pay whatever. So annoyed with all these drunk kids driving around there…

And also, if the plane tickets are sold out, or too expensive, check out Lomprayah. We did the bus and ferry to Koh Samui this time and it was pretty chill, and only 1400 baht per way.

Will we be bumping into each other there next year?

    Samui bound!

We’ve finally come around to book our tickets to Koh Samui for New Years. Can’t wait to get some tan on, and not least celebrate the new years with good friends and family- meaning Espen! We’ve booked a villa from the 30th to the 2nd and after that me and Tom will go on adventures for one last day before it’s back to real life.

I’ve been Dreaming back to our fun times in Phuket last month, so this was a great check on the list! If you guys are wondering where this awesome place is, or would like to rent the villa yourself it’s called the Villa Love 21 and is located in La Colline in Layan. Nice, spacious and luxurious in a calm and friendly neighborhood. <3

Amazing yoga and releasing more toxins

I’ve been here for three days now and experienced two full days on the Master Detox program. Things are definitely changing in my body. I was very sleepy this morning. I think the energy level has decreased a bit with the calorie low intake.

I’ve certainly lost some unnecessary weight after coming here.

I feel hungrier now than I did on the first two days. It’s in these situation that the detox soup comes to play. I’ve come to find it quite delicious now! For those of you who don’t know what the detox soup is; it’s a broth made out of (I think around 20) vegetables. They later remove the pieces so there’s nothing to chew. There are many natural spices to choose form so you can design it to fit your taste buds. Cayenne pepper is my saviour.

We had the most perfect yoga class today. There was no rain, and the location of the yoga structure is beautiful. It’s located right across a big pond and green trees and has open walls so you can hear all the sounds of nature around you. The teachers are amazing too. They wholeheartedly believe and love what they do. It truly makes a huge difference. I felt so open and refreshed after today’s session.

I almost feel like a new person today, it feels nice being somewhere away from home and just being able to clear your thoughts and system and just relax for once. I think everyone needs a detox in their life.

Enjoying the beautiful surroundings at LifeCo Phuket

We’ve arrived LifeCo Phuket and have already starting to ease into the whole detox situation. This area is so nice and quiet and the staff makes it very easy to adapt to the new (5 day) lifestyle. Tomorrow I’m having a consultation with the nutrition expert so we can find a program to suit my needs.

Getting a tour around the premises. There’s several pools, a large fishing pond, sauna area, massage and spa, medical clinic a gym, the lists goes on. I’ll show you guys more in the coming days.

    green salad diet lifeCo phuket

Raw green salad with beetroot dressing.

Today we’ve been on the green salad detox, having only fresh salads and green juices. We also went through a cooking class where we learnt to make some mean smoothies, sauces, and other raw and vegan snacks. I’ll be making some of these at home for sure. It feels so good to be eating something that you know is entirely healthy. Do I think a juicy burger tastes better? Yes, but it feels a lot better eating this. No guilt whatsoever.

I’m not 100% sure quite what I feel yet, but I’m definitely feeling different. Might be that I’m hungry, low on sugar or it could be more energy from not eating junk.

    See you guys tomorrow!
