    Boat Noodles at Victory Monument

When I moved to Thailand, I never saw myself as a noodle person and I always steered away from having to eat it.  It felt like everyone was on a noodle craze! I think my main problem was that I’m not a fan of noodle soup and secondly (and maybe the cause of me not liking noodle soup) that it was tasteless. That’s what happens when you grow up in a Norwegian family and have an overly protective mother that doesn’t feed you spicy food. Or friends with a bad stomach that is!

So yummy! There’s so much flavour. The trick is to eat as many as you can and stack them. We always get 10+ bowls of sen lek nua (thin noodles with beef)

Thankfully I met Tom, who is quite the noodle expert, let alone that he loves the spices just as much as me, who- first of all, introduced me to dried noodles (haeng) and second of all- my favourite noodles ever. BOAT NOODLES. We were so obsessed with it for a while and drove far just to try out new ones, but nothing beats the boat noodles in Victory monument. The portions are PERFECT, and there is enough veggies and meat to taste all of it in every slurpppp. SO GOOD.

How do you find these amazing bowls of deliciousness you may ask? Get on a BTS to Victory monument and ask for boat noodles or kuaitiao ruea and the locals will know. Otherwise just walk towards the klongs!

    Hello Cambodia!

Photo from our trip to Phuket last weekend. It’s pretty much the only photo I have!

So sleepy now almost falling over the keyboard over here. Yesterday was filled with fun stuff and finishing off the Christmas shopping in Sampeng followed by an all you can eat buffet and massage. It was our rest day from the gym so it was well deserved chill day! It felt great to come back today for leg day I felt so much stronger. Tomorrow… or more today more like it (It’s 3 AM now!). We’re off to Cambodia and Sieam Reap. So excited, I’ve never been to Angkor Wat before. The train leaves Bangkok at 6.20 AM so I might aswell just stay awake for the rest of the time. I’ve had some busy days working and it’s hard to fit it into a holiday schedule when you’re having people over. Don’t get me wrong, I love having people over! I’ve sent my last e-mails and delivered my projects so now I should be good to go once the files are uploaded. Good night guys! <3anitabye-1

A vegan lunch with a twist

I’m not one for vegan dishes nor vegetarian dishes, but I have heard so many good things about Broccoli Revolution so I just had to go. First of all their interior is perfect for Instagram photos and blogging, which also goes hand in hand with their food presentation. The food is so fresh and you rather forget that you’re not having any meat, let alone that you’re having super healthy dishes. Since there is no meat you are rewarded with a full plate of veggie based ingredients, seeds, quinoa and all the good stuff that you eat way too little of on a day to day basis. The food is put together in a fun way with a little twist that makes it fun to eat. I would definitely recommend you to order the smoothie bowl, broccoli quinoa burger and for Thai food the Khao Kaprao Hed, it’s so tasty!

Berry bowl, my fave, it was so fresh.

Now I’m off to a long day at Sampeng Market, we still haven’t gone for our Christmas decoration shopping . We’ve been planning to go for ages now but there’s been so many other sites and things to show our visitors. So far we’ve covered JJ green, Chatuchak weekend market, Khao San Road, cruising along the river and just eating at endless amounts of restaurants. That said, we’ve still managed to kick some ass in the gym, it’s nice having some new but familiar faces with us in the gym.

Going for a fun day on the river today. There is so many nice sights around the river, and I love that you can get lost and discover new things around there even as a local. Hopefully we can catch the sunset at Sala Arun! Otherwise we’ll aim for a bucket in Khaosan, haha. There’s nothing in between! Might try to pop by Sampeng Market for some Christmas decorations too- that place is FUN.

In love with my basic beige dress

I love long sleeves and fitted clothing so I guess there is no surprise when I tell you I fell for this beige dress instantly. I found it at Nelly.com while visiting Norway this summer- meaning no shipping or extra tax charges  = no brainer.

As you might already know I’m also a sucker for basic stuff. I like the idea of having clothes that works in every situation from running around on your daily errands as well as for night-time drinks (adding more accessories). The only problem for me is that I’m quite prone to heat so I only wear this dress if I know most of my day consists of being inside. Does anyone have any tips on how to cope with heat?

We decided to put up a little studio at home and get some photos the other day. For those of you who don’t know Tom is a photographer so if you’re anywhere around Bangkok or even Thailand and need some new headshots, travel photos, fashion or even just update your portfolio; check out his work. He’s amazing!

As Tom is quite busy with his own photography work most of the photos on this page is edited by myself in lightroom, so be kind- I’m still learning! I also need to start figuring out how Photoshop works, haha.

    What do you guys think?

    Dining at Bunker

There’s so many new restaurants opening in Bangkok and so little time on hand. We’re always talking about trying out all the new places around town but often just end up at the same old favorite places or new places around our area. If you live in Bangkok you know how anticlimactic the traffic is… Sathorn and Silom is one of the hippest areas in town for cocktails and food, so during our little staycation at the SO Sofitel we made sure to try out some of the treasures in that Area.

Bar area taken from our seating area on the second floor.

The first day we went for some nibbles at Bunker. I was full after our meal but the reason I say nibbles is that Bangkok Magazine mentioned that you had to spend around 6000 on a dinner for two. We spent around 2500 and Tom even enjoyed one of their cocktails in that price. Their cocktail menu is exciting and the prices are relatively low. I kind of regret not having a cocktail but I was going straight for the Mojito Monday and SO Sofitel’s MIXO bar so I had to save the calories, more about that later. Tom had an Old Fashioned cocktail as usual and said it was the best one he’s had so far!

I like the vibe of Bunker, it’s all set in a concrete building. The lights are dimmed with modern industrial decor. I loved the turquoise chairs and the marble-like tables. We went there on a Monday around 6 pm and the place was already full by 7. It’s surely is a trendy place to be seen.
The food was simple, fresh and not least delicious. The flavors are different, some- you will have to guess your way to if you didn’t memorize the menu. We went for one starter, one small pasta and one main dish, the portions are great for sharing.
