Bangkok
Been eating quite much this past week. Not too much on the unhealthy side, but definitely too much. I think it’s all been a mixture of people visiting, people leaving, and just catching up with friends again after coming home from the race and travelling. I feel like I’ve been out on lunches followed by dinners pretty much every day recently. I’m not complaining, but I might have to start rescheduling for gym meetups instead. I did start the gym again this week though, so hopefully it all evens out. I desperately need to get back in shape again. I haven’t been training properly for months. My squat is now lower than my bodyweight!! It’s time for some consistency – and clear goals in the gym again!
Today we went for lunch at one of my favourite (almost next door) lunch spot, Chu Chocolate bar and café. The food is tasty, has a nice presentation and the price is reasonable. You can even find them on Eatigo and get a 10%-50% discount depending on when you visit.
I’ve never had to line up for Pad Thai anywhere else in Thailand, though it seems to be the norm at Thipsamai. The queue is quite long, but people normally finishes their food in 15 minutes, so don’t freak out and run away. I think the longest I’ve waited is around 30 minutes. I would avoid going during day time, as the outside area where you line up is the kitchen, meaning you will get added heat from the cooking.
It’s quite addictive to see them flip the pad thai and egg on repeat, they are so fast! I think that Pad Thai is pretty delicious no matter what, but this place has the little extra and some more making it worth the visit. And who can say no to eating at the place that has been awarded the best Pad Thai in the world?

We decided to go lunching around our neighbourhood yesterday as there are so many places we haven’t tried yet. Also, picking a dining spot around the area means you can walk meaning hatching more eggs and catching more Pokémon! Our choice fell on Bistro M at The Mariott in soi 24. We had the tuna and avocado tartare, caesar salad, tenderloin steak with Thai spicy herbs and the buffalo wings with blue cheese dip which were all delicious. The only sad thing is the presentation so I couldn’t get any good photos of the food. They also have some selection of fresh smoothies, the mango shake was amazing!
Now I’m off to the mall to get some stuff for Norway tomorrow. Hopefully we can squeeze in some cinema time tonight aswell…

There’s so many things to do around Bangkok and you’ll never have a hard time finding a good list of what to do while visiting. But I feel like the list has never been updated and that there is too many places and things on repeat. So in this interview I’ve tried to mention some of the more hidden gems, and some places (like JJ Market) that are totally mainstream but has to be experienced! Try visiting at least 3 of this places and you’ll get a feeling of how it is to be a local in Bangkok, pretty amazing!
Have you been to any of these places?

After the Under Armour challenge I realized how my stamina has decreased since I started doing only weightlifting. Don’t get me wrong. I love lifting and I love the result it gives you…aesthetically. But I just don’t feel like I’m pushing any boundaries and improving on any other parts than my strength. So, from now on, I want to combine what I love with some things I love less to better myself. I haven’t decided quite what I want to do on the side yet, which makes the next thing I’m going to talk about; the perfect option.
The Guava pass!! You can try out pretty much every gym in Bangkok with the pass, and there are so many different classes to choose from. So far we’ve been to hot yoga, Muay Thai yoga, raw strength classes and even golf sessions. Safe to say we’ve had nothing but fun! Well.. except me having a bad trip during the hot yoga. Note to myself, don’t go first thing in the morning, and go after a day where you’ve been well hydrated and have had something to eat beforehand hehe. I can’t wait to try out all the new things this pass has to offer, and I seriously recommend everyone to get on it even if it’s just for a month to get some variation to your exercise program or just to find out what you like.
