    Guess who’s back

    Hey everybody!

It’s been way too long since last time, I deeply apologize.  We went away on a one week trip to visit some of the Islands of Trang. It was magical. I’ll tell you all about it in my next post, but first I think we have some catching up to do. As some of you already know I am now one year older than last time I wrote something… not in terms of time, but age. Yes… I know you understand. Hehe. So I guess you can say this was a little bday week trip.
I’ve also started fasting… well, at least for 14 hours at a day, which isn’t that bad. If you guys are interested in knowing how it works I will make a post about it later. We also started a new gym here in Bangkok called smart fitness, located in Khlong Toey. The equipment is old, but they have pretty much all you need. I have to admit I was very skeptical when I heard there was no aircon, but there is actually aircon on the inside area, and even if it wasn’t I’d still sign up. People actually come there to work instead of occupying machines while texting on their phones or playing with their ipads, so I’m loving it this far. It’s also only 700bath a month, and even cheaper if you sign up long term.

Other than that, things are pretty much the same. We’re actually going on a new adventure to Chiang Mai already next weekend. Two nights at Dhara Dhevi- deluxe villa with Plunge pool, say whaat?! I’ll be more than happy hearing suggestions on what to do up there. From what I’ve seen, visiting the bakery is a must!

What have you guys been up to lately?  <3

Since were chillin’ on the beach for my birthday,I don’t have a real bday fiesta picture. So I thought I’d throw in a pic from a party held by partyanimalz last December. I’m feeling 22…

    Wat Arun-The Temple Of Dawn

Temple fashion #1 Cover your legs and shoulders. While many “ordinary” temples in Thailand carries no dress code, you should still keep this in mind. Be respectful!

The stairs on the temple are pretty steep. The stunning tower rises 79 meters above ground!

Getting our fortune told. You have to shake this cup full of fortunes until one falls out. On this, is a number. You then have to remember the number so you can collect a piece of paper holding your fotune. If it’s not a good fortune, you are adviced throw it away.

    wat arun beautiful detals.

Notice all the carming detals. It is decorated with ceramic tiles and fragments of multi colored porcelain covering every last bit. Wat means temple in Thai. Arun comes from Aruna, the Indian God of Dawn.

I recently went with a friend of mine to help out some Thai students with their tourism project. They had to take us around Bangkok, and one of our destinations was Wat Arun. I was actually pretty glad when I heard, since I hadn’t been there for ages. I guess I should get better at just travelling around Bangkok and seeing the sights. There are over 31200 Buddhist temples spread around in Thailand, but Wat Arun is one to stand out. You should definitely visit if you’re in town. Thought I must warn you, it gets pretty hot at daytime. If you want to see an even more spectacular view, you should definitely see the temple from the east side of the river at sunset. At this time the temple is actually sparkling.

    17. mai

Now that we are back and settled in Bangkok, I thought I would make a little post from one of the hotels we visited in Pranburi, called Villa Maroc.  It’s a Moroccan inspired luxury hotel located right on the beach road. Not only do they offer beachside living and unique luxury furnishing, but they also have a great restaurant. Everything we’ve had there this far has been absolutely delightful. And the price isn’t that bad either. (Taken into consideration it is a 5 star hotel.)

Tasteful starter- MEZZA plate has a great variety of Moroccan flavours.

The place is very photogenic, so if you’re not up to staying the night there, you should totally stop by if you’re in the area, to grab a bite and wander around taking photos. There are lots of photoshoots happening there apparently.

At the end I want to say happy birthday to my other home, Norway. Today is our big “17.mai” which obviously means 17th of May.  200 years since the constitution was signed on Eidsvoll. Hip hip hurra!! We didn’t have time to march in the parade here in Bangkok today, but we are going to dinner with our fellow Norwegian citizens of Bangkok in Marriott, Thonglor in the evening. I Hope there will be some Norwegian food! Can’t wait!

-Hvilke planer har dere for 17. mai?

    Salty seas

Hey everyone! I don’t know about you guys but I’m having an amazing Thursday. We were actually planning to go home on Wednesday, but Tom managed to postpone his work so we could stay another day. This trip has been so relaxing and I must say I wish we could stay here forever. Goku was having the time of his life today. When we first got him, we were advised to not let him into the water, because another dog owner who got the dog at the same breeder as us took him to swim and right when he came out of the water he went into shock and passed away. So, we never let him anyway near the water, other than showering ofc. Today for some reason, he ran into the pool, and I think he loved it. We then took him down to the beach and he went into the water like a crazy dog. It was awesome! We’re already planning to go back again as soon as we have time. If anyone of you don’t know where Pranburi is, it’s 30 km past Hua Hin. You should absolutely make a trip here if you want a relaxing beach experience without too many people. There are lots of luxury hotels along the beach road, and I will introduce you to one of them tomorrow.

I’ve never wore a headband like this, but felt inspired after going to the railway market. I’m loving the retro look, and will wear it again for sure.

We’re starting our 14 day diet tomorrow, so tonight  we’re going to make a cheesy and bacon filled chicken lasagna. I love “unhealty” eating.  Anyone have some good recipes for cheat days?

Have a great night guys! x

One of my fave sunglasses. I’ve always liked the rayban clubmaster, but sometimes they look too round for my face, so I was really happy when I found these.

We’ve been talking about going to the beach for a while now and luckily Tom has a holiday house in Pranburi, so yesterday we decided to drive down there. It is so nice sunny here and Goku is loving the garden. Bangkok isn’t really dog friendly and there are no parks we can take him out to play. We’re soon off to eat one my favourite foods; som tam and gai yang. (papaya salad and grilled chicken), followed by a two-hour massage.  The rest of the day we’ll be chilling by the pool doing whatever we please. Good life.

What are you guys up to today?

I LOVE converse. It really goes with everything! This time I chose a colour I didn’t think I would see on too many people.

We found this little stall who makes customized caps in the “talat rot fai”/railway market the other day. I just couldn’t resist getting one! Isn’t it cute?

Last weekend we went to Talad Rot Fai also known as the railway market. (Rot Fai means train in thai). I was really surprised over the great selection of goods they had there. They had some seriously cool vintage items. I ended up buying quite a bit more than I had expected, and for the sake of my wallet I decided I’d leave some things for later. Most of this outfit is bought there. I’m quite obsessed with these printed tops these days, and the ones I found in the market were the best I’ve seen in Thailand so far. We also found this adorable little stall where you can design your own cap. I guess mine a bit too cute, but you could also pick more basic designs. This is absolutely a must go to place for people who want something different than the usual markets we often find in Thailand. The market is open from Thursday to Sunday. I wish I could go back today, but I’m stuck with my studies. Hope you’re all doing great on your exams, and crossing my fingers I will too. Have an amazing Saturday guys!
