    Chiang Mai keeping me full

    Hi Guys ♥

In Chiang Mai now and I am utterly impressed by the food scene here. So far we’ve been hunting for the best coffee shops, desserts and Khao Soi. We’ve rented a scooter so it’s been easy to get around to try the amazing places around the city. Too bad I can’t rent an extra stomach.

    Chiang Mai bound!

    Hi lovlies.

I’m heading for a new mini adventure tomorrow. Jumping on a plane in the morning and straight to Chiang Mai.  Hopefully the rain won’t be too bad. We were stuck between a beach holiday in the south or nature in the north and we both agreed that if the rain would start to pour, Chiang Mai was the place we wanted to be. We had an amazing trip to the North and Pai last year, but haven’t been in Chiang mai since our fantastic stay at Dhara Dhevi in 2014. Safe to say the city has developed a lot since our last trip. And to our pleasure I’ve heard that the café/bakery game is strong up in the north right now. Can’t wait to find spot some nice hidden gems and just enjoy the nature.

    See you guys there!

    Krabilicious

Thailand has a lot to offer in terms of scenery and culture and saying that you have a favourite place here might sound a bit rushed. But, there’s something special about Krabi that in, when people ask me for my favourite beach destination, Krabi is the first place that comes to mind.

Island hopping in Krabi. This is at Koh Tup.

It might not be unspoiled by tourists or even a hidden gem where it requires the help of locals to get to. If you do want that, you should go to Koh Krandan and the islands around Trang. The sunsets there are the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

Krabi is actually quite developed and the ease of travelling there is a part of what makes it so attractive. You can literally to go there with 5 minutes of planning. Thank you internet! There are plenty of nice areas to stay depending on what you like to do, which makes it a place suitable for ANYONE.

//So happy we didn’t listen to the weather forecast. It was supposed to be raining 24/7… should have worn that sunscreen…//

There’s Ao Nang which is the “mainland” and even if it’s not the center as in Krabi town, it is the center in terms of transportation. You can get anywhere from here. This is also where the main pier to go to Railay beach is located.

For me, Ao Nang is probably not a place I would recommend to stay, but a nice place to start if you are travelling with family or you just want to relax on the beach with good restaurants, bars and nightlife.

There are plenty of daytime activities in Krabi such as The Emerald pool, island hopping, climbing, temple exploring, night markets, beaches- you can easily rent a bike anywhere to explore by yourself. Or you can rent a private (or with groups) speedboat/long tail boat.

//That climbing scenery… don’t worry. This is just the warm-up. But hello, would you like to climb on Railay beach? Check out the scenery.//

My go-to place in Krabi will always be Railay beach. I cannot go there without visiting this place. And if I didn’t know better, I would have thought Railay was an island. That’s definitely the vibe it gives you. Reggae music, endless smiles, peacefulness and perfect sandy beaches. Strolling along the beach and eating delicious seafood. And the best of all, the rock climbing opportunities. I love bumping into travelling souls along the climbing areas. Experienced climbers and first-timers alike, they all love it.

So- if you are living in Thailand or is planning to come here, do go check out this gem of a place. The accommodation is great and affordable as well!

    Eating my way through Oslo

It’s time for another small Oslo eating guide. As mentioned I had almost a full week in Oslo this time, so there was much more time to explore the city.

I went to eat my favourite (fast food) Kebab, again. The kebab sauce/ dressing is the magic ingredient. Eating in Oslo is so much fun. Pizzas on every corner, amazing foreign foods. There is so much foreign influence in the food culture in Oslo. I always get lost at the import supermarkets. The fruit selection is to die for.

I also think I have found one of Oslo’s best burgers. Oslo really knows how to make good burgers! And the craft beer scene is happening.  Oslo during summer time is perfect for food exploration and shopping. You can reach pretty much everywhere by foot.  Just bring some good walking shoes. I also got to experience some of the local Oslo summer scene and went to Nesoddtangen to visit my cousin and boyfriend. They took us on a fun, – and something that felt like a typical Norwegian boat trip.

    MUST EATS IN OSLO.

    1. Bislett Kebab, they have several branches scattered around Oslo. I love the garlic and kebab sauce and the (large) size of the Kebab. Make sure to be hungry when you come here. Also, if you want the jalapeno you usually have ask for it. You can also buy the dressing to bring home.

Drools. Not for anyone on a diet, hehe.

    2. Fiasko burger, perfectly medium cooked juicy patties. Extremely satisfying. If you love spicy, the ‘Hot Green Monster’ was enjoyable to say at least. They make their own chili mix and it’s fresh!  There’s also a good selection of craft beers and the restaurant/bar is located right in the center of Oslo. Need I say more?

Oh my god… it was so juicy! Pair it with the Parmesan fries. YUM.

    3. Ice crime, I’m not an ice cream girl, but this place is quite unique. The flavors are not your usual ice cream flavours and they even have a brown cheese flavour that you have to try. Staff is great and let you try until you decide. Trust me, it’s gonna take a while. My recommendation is the ice cream sandwich as I’m a chocolate chip cookie fan. Perfect compo of soft and crispy.

      Guilty pleasure

    4. Istanbul Kebab in Grünerløkka had amazing authentic Turkish food. Though I have never been in Turkey, this is what I imagine it would be like. So many exiting flavours and great variation. I went for the Iskender kebab. Portions are quite big, so come hungry or share some dishes. This way you can try as much as possible too! It was messy. I was hungry. Which means no pix.
    5. RØØR, fun shuttleboard area upstairs, but the gem is downstairs in the bar… where they have 71 craft beers on tap. Great atmosphere and definitely a great place to have fun.

      What to choose?

    6. Pappas pizza, for this place, you’ll need to jump on a boat to Nesoddtangen from Aker Brygge. It’s worth it, and for the summer months, a boat trip is a must so this a good reason to go. The pizzas are perfectly baked with a creative selections of topping such as goat cheese, pomegranate, pecan nuts and all your usual favourites.

      Crispy and spicy!

      7. Heimatt Løkka. A typical Norwegian breakfast/lunch place using all the best ingredients from Tine. Tine is one of the main dairy brands in Norway making some of the best cheese, butter, yogurt, milk- you name it.  Everything was fresh and very picturesque. Heimatt is located in Grünerløkka and was supposed to only be a pop-up collaboration between Tine and Ikea. Yes, you heard me right. All the furniture is from Ikea! But… luckily for us, it seems like it’s here to stay.

Hope you liked my Oslo Eating Guide. If you have any more tips about good places to eat in Oslo/Norway, do let me know! <3

One of my favourite Guavapass gyms!

I’m still super jet lagged from our Norway trip and haven’t been able to get back to my routines yet. We are still awake until 4 am and waking up at noon. I need to fix this. Easier said than done! So glad to have Guavapass available, there’a literally no excuse as there’s always one workout or another available at most hours. It’s also super helpful to easily see what’s available on the app. I love being able to switch the work out around from day to day. Right now I am loving Base. I’ll make you guys a must-try list of my top 5-10 Guavapass gyms soon!

    Hiking the Romsdalseggen Ridge

    Hi lovelies!

Here’s a little video we made from our Hike at Romsdalseggen ridge. Check out how our 7 hour, 10,5 km walk up to Mjølvafjellet at 1216 meters above sea level and back down to the centre of Åndalsnes was!

Romsdalseggen is known as Norway’s most beautiful trek, and it’s not without any reason. Beautiful scenery wherever you turn. And even if the hike is somewhat rough, you can walk in your own pace, making it much easier. You don’t have to stress during the summer months as the sun is up for at least 12 hours. Which means that most people can go on this adventure. You can see that we spent quite a bit of extra time to enjoy the scenery and for filming purposes, hehe.

Read in detail about our trip in my last post about “Camping fun and Romsdalseggen”. There’s also some beautiful pictures to see!
