We made a fun little video from our trip to Luang Prabang. The only time I had been to Laos before was going for a visa run to Vientiane, and trust me… that was a complete different story. I never thought I could fall so deeply in love with a city in Laos after that experience. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t that bad… but it was also nothing to write home about. If your only experience from Laos is Vientiane as well, I urge you to take the trip to Luang Prabang as well.
Last time we went to Phuket it was to see the crystal clear blue waters and white sandy beaches of Koh Tachai. This time we’re off to the LifeCo Wellness center for a detox. We’ll be back in Bangkok for the premiere of The Amazing Race Asia on the 13th. It’s going to be great to be able to relax for a bit and recharge my batteries because I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go crazy when seeing the first episode!
There’s many reasons why you should stay at The Sofitelwhenever you have the opportunity. Good service, interior that is light on the eyes and remarkable service is just some of them.
The lobby. There’s bikes available at the hotel for free. Luang Prabang is small so you can get pretty much anywhere on a bike. There’s also a hotel shuttle during night time. You do not want to bike in Luang Prabang during night time, it gets pretty dark. We got lost in our own area, hehe.
Sofitel has my favourite beds- so soft you want to get out of bed. <3
The lighting is prefect for make-up. It’s any girls dream!

We stayed at the pool villa with a spacious area to hang out, a beautiful green garden and a gorgeous purple tiled pool.
Sofitel Luang Prabang is located on Ban Mano a quiet residential quarter with walking and biking distance to the city centre. It’s a century old colonial mansion built in the 1900s as a French Governor’s residence and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I love the ideas and stories behind Sofitel’s hotels and décor, but this one wins. The entrance is like a portal back to Luang Prabang’s history with an enchanted setting, a beautiful garden, tent structures and lanterns. The rooms are spacious and as in any Sofitel they reek of luxury and comfort.
I’ve always been obsessed with health, feeling good, fitness and trying out different diets. But the furthest I’ve ever gone is cutting my calories which honestly haven’t been good for anything else than my aesthetics. I’ve been thinking on and off about going on a detox but never really found the time to do it. I’ve seen plenty of juice cleanses and deliveries available online but somehow I just couldn’t see myself withstanding the temptations of other foods while staying home. I’ve been feeling so tired lately, and came over LifeCo Well-Being Detox Retreat Centerin Phuket, where you can go on a little holiday at a cosy little resort while detoxing. It’s perfect to keep your mind off things.
I’ll be going there for a cleance from the 7th and are doing it for 5 full days, I’ve already started preparing for the stay. I haven’t decided what treatment I will be doing as I want to talk to the doctor at the site to see what’s best for me. At first I was a bit scared when I was presented with the pre-detox list but after a few days off these things I’m already feeling better! You should prepare around 5 days before you go to both alkalize you and prepare your body for deeper cleansing and for the effect of the detox to be maximized.
Things you need to cut out of your daily intake is:
Meat, dairy products, salt, sugar or foods with added sugar.
Fried food, or foods cooked in oils.
You also need to increase your daily intake of raw fruits and vegetables and drink at least one raw, organic fruit or vegetable juice per day.
On a warm day you you should be drinking around 6% of your bodyweight, so around 3.5 litres for me, this excludes coffee and juices. It feels so good to be properly hydrated and it gives you so much more energy already.
Last but not least, no food after 7, only herbal teas!
So excited to be doing yoga every day, doesn’t it look amazing?
I can’t wait to start on a new page and to feel fresh again! I’m really in need of this detox after the race and all the travelling and stress with school. It’s hard to control what you’re eating when you’re on the go, and often just have to grab whatever is available.
I think the hardest part for me will be staying away from meat for that long. That’s never been done before. I bet it’s going to feel great for the body and conscience.
I’ll be updating everything as usual on Snapchat, Instagram and on the here so you get to see what it’s all about.
So many stunning temples around the city of Luang Prabang.
I went on a little shopping spree with Tom the other day to find items for our halloween costume. We didn’t find anything. That doesn’t mean we left the mall empty handed though. As we walked through Forever21 to get to Toys”R”Us I spotted a nice golden body.I think I’m obsessed with fitted neck line tops, I can’t resist buying them when I see them and this one fit me perfectly. You would think they had smaller sizes in Thailand. So you don’t have to guess twice what my first outfit for Laos was.
If you didn’t check my instagram yet we finally went to Luang Prabang. I think we’ve been talking about it since we first started dating in 2013. It was nothing less than we had expected, amazing food, great atmosphere and beautiful architecture everywhere. We stayed at the stunning Sofitel Luang Prabang, which I recommend at the highest. Pictures from the hotel in my next post.
I’m off on a little holiday again. This time to Laos! I don’t think I’ll be bringing my computer for this trip so you’re going to have to check my instagram for updates.
