Bhu Nga Thani and private pool villa fun

We had the most amazing stay at Bhu Nga Thani in Krabi. I would give it a 100% overall score. The place is clean and beautiful and the staff super adorable and helpful. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful hotels on Railay beach.

This is the view from the East side of Krabi… No beach, but beautiful nature and Mangrove forests…

The hotel is located right next to Railay princess on Railay East side meaning it will be just at the end of the walkway that connects with the beach. It’s also right where the East side pier to Ao Nang is, so you get to chill at your hotel right until departure.

The view gets even prettier as the sun sets and the restaurant is placed right on the edge, meaning you can stare right into the deep for as long as you need to, hehe! The view is partly covered by longtail boats and mangrove trees which is picture perfect if you ask me.

Loved the private pool and outside area!

    The hotel is just stunning!

If you walk even further along the East side of Railay there’s many restaurants and bars all ranged from backpacker style to luxury. They even have a super delicious pizza restaurant and many friendly reggae bars. If you walk even further into the woods there’s also nice night hangouts but keep in mind that you will need to cover yourself completely in mosquito repellent.

Birthday girl!! Someone “forgot” to bring make-up for the trip, hehehe 😀

    Honeymoon cocktail

Cocktails with a view… this was their honeymoon cocktail and came with the room. So tasty!

The overall experience of the hotel will still be the same even if you go for the normal rooms, but if you want to make the most of it- I would recommend you to book the pool villa. We had the best time there! And OMG, the bed was super soft. There’s (obviously) a private pool but also a nicely sized jacuzzi to play around in and not to mention the nice inside and outside area to chill. It’s so worth it.

I’ll definitely stay here again during next visit.

    Birthday celebrations in the rain

Too bad we forgot to ask the weather Gods for good weather for my birthday. We had rain and clouds pretty much all the time during our stay at Railay Beach. Luckily me and Tom are pretty similar and not too picky making us able to have fun pretty much anywhere and situation. Even if that means hanging out in our hotel bed laughing at dumb stuff while eating take away pizza, chips AND candies.

    couple leapkiss railay beach

How crazy is it that we got moments of sun to take our #leapkiss photo!

The first night we stayed at the Sand Sea Resort which is located right where you get off the longtail boat from Ao Nang to Railay East. I got us a room upgrade with a view and was very satisfied with it. The regular rooms on the other hand didn’t look like anything special.  BUT, great location!

    Railay Bay Krabi

Anyone that’s been to Krabi would be able to guess where this is just from looking at his photo.

The rain went away as the sun set so we still had time to chill by the beach while eating seafood and watching the fireshow. PERFECT island vibe! It’s so weird  that Krabi isn’t an island. It sure feels like it.

Railay West, compared to the East side; there’s a large beach here. Making it a lot more expensive. I dolove  the beach on the Phra Nang beach too , the suset is amazing!

The second day of our trip we actually had 3 hours of sun, so you can imagine we were at the beach soaking it all up, having ice cold juices and taking the photos we needed. At one point it got so hot we had to go to walking street to cool down. Right when the smoothie lady was saying how lucky we were with the weather…the storm arrived.

Our time on the West side and the beach had come to an end and we were finally spending some time on the East side, where (in my opinion) the fun is!Also… the food and drinks costs half the price on the East side and it’s only a 2 minute walk from the beach side. I think most people don’t realize this, as they tend to just stay on the side where they have their hotel.

I knew Tom had booked us a night at the  Bhu Nga Thani but I was super surprised when we arrived and he had booked us an amazing private pool villa. It was perfect! Especially with the weather we had. I want to keep the photos about the hotel for my next post, as it was so special it deserves a post of its own.

Love this guy with all my heart <3

Because of the weather we choose to not climb during this trip, nor do any island hopping. I think this trip just proves how amazing Krabi is though. You can have a BLAST there no matter what <3

    Until next time xxx

    Countdown for Norway!!!

I’m beyond excited for our trip to Norway. I think we’ve got everything planned so far. We are going from 6th to the 24th of July and are mainly focusing of travelling around Norway. There are so many nice places to visit, and since I’ve taken Tom to the North a couple of times now I thought the South would be a nice change for the summer.

These pics are from our last trip to Lofoten <3

We’re going to drive down to Åndalsnes to see the famous Trollstigen and Trollveggen. After that we are heading to Geiranger to do some fjord sightseeing. We are also going to try to do some kayaking next to the glaciers around Jostedalsbreen and maybe visit Stryn and see some lakes on the way. Then we’re doing a long drive down to Bergen and Odda to trek the Trolltunga. It’s going to be around 27 hours of driving on this trip so that’s going to be interesting. Agh, I can’t wait to see some beautiful nature and scenery and camp and chill out in cabins around Norway. That’s truly one of the best things to do there during summer times. If we do have the time I think we will try to drive through Lom on the way and trek Galdhøpiggen as well!
We’re also spending a couple of days in Oslo at the end of our trip and are going to try to time it for a  beer tasting event. I also really want to take Tom to Tusenfryd my favourite place during my childhood.

The last time we went during winter, we visited Lofoten and had only 4 hours where the sun was out. Can you imagine that? The sun was rising at 9 am and set at 1 pm. This time we’ll get to hang out in the midnight sun. <3

Have you ever been to Norway? What’s your favourite place?

    Getting fit with Guava Pass

After the Under Armour challenge I realized how my stamina has decreased since I started doing only weightlifting. Don’t get me wrong. I love lifting and I love the result it gives you…aesthetically. But I just don’t feel like I’m pushing any boundaries and improving on any other parts than my strength. So, from now on, I want to combine what I love with some things I love less to better myself. I haven’t decided quite what I want to do on the side yet, which makes the next thing I’m going to talk about; the perfect option.

girl_crop_top_manasoda_bangkokThe Guava pass!! You can try out pretty much every gym in Bangkok with the pass, and there are so many different classes to choose from. So far we’ve been to hot yoga, Muay Thai yoga, raw strength classes and even golf sessions. Safe to say we’ve had nothing but fun! Well.. except me having a bad trip during the hot yoga. Note to myself, don’t go first thing in the morning, and go after a day where you’ve been well hydrated and have had something to eat beforehand hehe. I can’t wait to try out all the new things this pass has to offer, and I seriously recommend everyone to get on it even if it’s just for a month to get some variation to your exercise program or just to find out what you like.

Celebrating 17th of May in Bangkok

We got to celebrate 17th of May this year around too. We started the day with marching in the parade at the Norwegian ambassador’s garden, followed by hotdogs and ice cream just like back home. I was surprised that there are so many Norwegians living here permanently. It obviously wasn’t the same as back home but definitely as good as I had been hoping for. The 17th of May committee had put so much work into the event!

Can you believe it was this many people? And so many had brought their national suit “bunad” from Norway…

For the adults there was a gala dinner at the Sheraton Grande in Asoke where we had some drinks and Norwegian food. Of course Norwegian salmon was on the menu this year as well… when are they gonna pick up the “Sodd” tradition from my part of the country?

Sorry for the bad picture quality, I only brought my phone out…

    Krabi here we come

Hotels booked for Krabi. I’m already dying to go back.I think Krabi is of my top 3 places in Thailand. I love the combination of beach time and activities and especially the fact that they have so many climbing spots. Not to talk about all the photo opportunities. I can’t wait to watch the sunsets or the sunrise and I’m not planning to miss any while there. We booked the Sand Sea resort which looks pretty sweet and has great reviews. I love that it’s located right on the beach. For the second night we booked Bhu Nga Thani. It’s also located pretty close to the sea, but looks newer and offers more view than the first one. Can’t wait to share with you guys!

We also booked our trips to Norway in July and are flying with Thai airways. Two and a half week of Europe summer. So excited! We might try to book a couple of small trips around Europe too, depending on the weather back home.

Now I’m off to the gym again. 2 weeks until we go… seriously, I want my old body back ‘till then!
Unfortunately we’re having an after work at the office today. I’m skipping the beers and wine, but I can’t say no to pizza, hehe.

    See you guys soon!
