This photo is taken at Pai Island Hotel a 2 minute walk from Yoma Hotel. Seriously, go there to have a cup of single bean coffee. I had a cappuccino and it was the smoothest one ever.

The first night during our time in Pai we stayed at Yoma Hotel located only 5 minutes away from the city center. The view is stunning and the pool is located in a perfect position to chill and watch the sunrise or just gaze at the beautiful view.  The lighting  is perfect for photos during sundown to catch the flares, amazing! As you can see we totally took advantage of this, oops. I opted for the villa as it had more privacy and a clear view. I also loved the glass balcony doors in the morning. Open the curtains and watch the sunrise over the mist from your bed.  All the rooms have a nice outside area so even if you don’t want to spend the extra, Yoma Hotel is a great choice. It’s also only a 2 minute walk to Pai Island Resort which is picture perfect!

    Tom’s surprise trip to Pai!

We just came home from four amazing days in Pai. As I mentioned to you guys earlier, Tom turned 32 years on the 9th of February, so I wanted to surprise him and take him somewhere special. Pai is so beautiful, surrounded by stunning waterfalls, hot springs and beautiful green scenery as far as the eye can see. Moreover, there is so many nice places to stay up there.

I spent hours deciding on hotels and ended up choosing three different ones for our period of stay, and it was the best decision ever. All our rooms and sceneries were perfect, and all of them with a different vibe. I ended up choosing Yoma Hotel for our first night, Puripai Villa for the second and finished up with a private pool villa at The Quarter.

Starting the first day of 32 with a single bean coffee at Pai Island Resort. Might be the best coffee ever.

I’ve been reading a lot of negative stuff about Pai having changed so much during the past decade, and that the tourist visiting the city are mainly hippies or people seeking drugs and parties. I can definitely see where people are coming from, but the only irritating thing I noticed was the amount of Chinese tourists cutting in line and not really understanding English. The town certainly has hipster/hippy vibe, and I can understand that people are reacting to the fact that at least 50% of the food they sell along the walking street and coffee shops are foreign food, but hey at least the people selling it are Thai people.

Birthday Boy! ❤ Big thanks to Carrot On The Moon for the delicious cake delivery!!

Wine and pasta at puripai villa pai

We pretty much chilled at our hotel the whole day during Tom’s birthday. The food at PuriPai villa is SO GOOD!

In my opinion Pai was pretty quiet and chill, everything closes at 10 pm, except a couple of bars out of walking street, but nothing loud. I think it is all about where you stay, as we had pretty much no noise at all at any of the places we stayed. I could imagine staying at the hostels along and outside walking street could be a bit noisy though. Because you do want to go to bed early so you can catch that beautiful sunrise! I wish I got to see the untouched pai 10 years ago, but I would definitely urge everyone to make a visit and judge for themselves.

couple happy smiling on balcony in Pai

Our days in Pai was perfect from sunrise to sunset. I’m so happy that Tom liked his surprises! Though I think we both have to go on a major diet as we pretty much ate all the time. Cake, wine, beers, burgers, pasta, sandwiches, NOODLES, Pai is all about the delicious food! Who am I kidding… Wonderfruit is right around the corner!

    Detox in Phuket

I’ve always been obsessed with health, feeling good, fitness and trying out different diets. But the furthest I’ve ever gone is cutting my calories which honestly haven’t been good for anything else than my aesthetics. I’ve been thinking on and off about going on a detox but never really found the time to do it. I’ve seen plenty of juice cleanses and deliveries available online but somehow I just couldn’t see myself withstanding the temptations of other foods while staying home. I’ve been feeling so tired lately, and came over LifeCo Well-Being Detox Retreat Center in Phuket, where you can go on a little holiday at a cosy little resort while detoxing. It’s perfect to keep your mind off things.

Picture are all taken from their website.

I’ll be going there for a cleance from the 7th and are doing it for 5 full days, I’ve already started preparing for the stay. I haven’t decided what treatment I will be doing as I want to talk to the doctor at the site to see what’s best for me. At first I was a bit scared when I was presented with the pre-detox list but after a few days off these things I’m already feeling better! You should prepare around 5 days before you go to both alkalize you and prepare your body for deeper cleansing and for the effect of the detox to be maximized.

Things you need to cut out of your daily intake is:

    • Meat, dairy products, salt, sugar or foods with added sugar.
    • Fried food, or foods cooked in oils.

You also need to increase your daily intake of raw fruits and vegetables and drink at least one raw, organic fruit or vegetable juice per day.

On a warm day you you should be drinking around 6% of your bodyweight, so around 3.5 litres for me, this excludes coffee and juices. It feels so good to be properly hydrated and it gives you so much more energy already.

Last but not least, no food after 7, only herbal teas!

    yoga detox center phuket

So excited to be doing yoga every day, doesn’t it look amazing?

I can’t wait to start on a new page and to feel fresh again! I’m really in need of this detox after the race and all the travelling and stress with school. It’s hard to control what you’re eating when you’re on the go, and often just have to grab whatever is available.

I think the hardest part for me will be staying away from meat for that long. That’s never been done before. I bet it’s going to feel great for the body and conscience.

I’ll be updating everything as usual on Snapchat, Instagram and on the here so you get to see what it’s all about.

So many stunning temples around the city of Luang Prabang.

I went on a little shopping spree with Tom the other day to find items for our halloween costume. We didn’t find anything. That doesn’t mean we left the mall empty handed though. As we walked through Forever21 to get to Toys”R”Us I spotted a nice golden body.I think I’m obsessed with fitted neck line tops, I can’t resist buying them when I see them and this one fit me perfectly. You would think they had smaller sizes in Thailand.  So you don’t have to guess twice what my first outfit for Laos was.

If you didn’t check my instagram yet we finally went to Luang Prabang. I think we’ve been talking about it since we first started dating in 2013. It was nothing less than we had expected, amazing food, great atmosphere and beautiful architecture everywhere. We stayed at the stunning Sofitel Luang Prabang, which I recommend at the highest. Pictures from the hotel in my next post.

How to make the perfect roadtrip with only 7 days in Norway

Our trip to Norway this summer was amazing. I think this is the first summer ever that we’ve travelled domestically during the whole holiday. We went on a one week road trip, exploring Norway’s beautiful scenery and camping sites (we stayed in our tent pretty much every night). We started in Levanger early in the morning to catch the sight of Trollstigen before it got dark. Unfortunately it was a bit foggy that day and we couldn’t enjoy the view from the top, but the drive was awesome. All the fog made it feel like we were a lot higher up than we were.

    Beware of trolls!

Our goal was to reach Geiranger Camping so we could go on a fjord cruise the day after and we made it just before closing time. The road down to the city (Ørneveien) is crazy, so many turns and a crazy view!

Tom finally got to see his Seven sisters waterfalls too which was pretty amazing.

Tom finally got to see his Seven Sisters waterfalls, he’s been on about it for years hehe. It’s funny, for us Norwegians, Seven Sisters would be the mountain range in Bergen, but EVERY tourist relates to the waterfalls.

    google maps route norway

Camping spots: Geiranger camping, Jostedal camping, Odda camping. All very nice and clean. We stopped by the supermarket and bought a disposable grill and had a bbq pretty much every night. So cosy!

The second day was spent driving to Jostedal camping. It was a bit of a detour as we wanted to join the ice trolls for some Glacier kayaking. They only offer their kayaking tour in Austdalsbreen, which was a bit out of the way we were going but it was totally worth it! It’s so pretty and clear you’re not going to believe it. The best part? Pretty much no tourists.

Crazy scenery during the glacier trekking!

12 km return to get to the glaciers. Pretty tough actually. Check out Icetroll for more adventures, they’re awesome!

We drove straight to Bergen after the glacier walking and kayaking. I think we arrived at around 2 am… I was dead after all the driving. I’m also not a fan of driving through tunnels, and especially not during night-time when I’m sleepy. The drive to Bergen is full of tunnels!

We spent most of our time just walking around bryggen, eating seafood and window shopped. Bergen has such a nice summer vibe.

    fløyen_utsikt_norge

We went on the famous Fløybanen to watch the city from above. You can also walk if you want to.

Our last destination was  Odda. We stayed there for two days trying to catch good weather so we could walk up to Trolltunga, but our time never came. We still had an amazing time, and are already planning to do another road trip around Norway.

Made a little pit stop at Borgund Stave church. It looks like something taken out of Lord Of The Rings!

Four things to bring on a road trip through during summer time:

Student ID will give you discounts while travelling around Norway.

Tent and sleeping gear, you can camp anywhere in Norway, but… I still stop at camping sites and pay the fee, it’s safer and you’ll have access to showers and toilets.

Trekking boots and runners, you’ll need the boots for tougher terrain and glacier walking, but you want something lighter like runners or normal shoes for daytime walks in the city.

Rain clothes and layers, even if you’re going during summer time, this is Norway, so expect to wear lots of clothes.

TIPS:  if you are under 26 years, Norwegian offers some great youth deals within Norway. Use the code UNDER26 at checkout and you will find tickets at only 399kr each way. SAS has a similar deal for 499kr. It’s pretty sweet when you’re booking last minute.

Bhu Nga Thani and private pool villa fun

We had the most amazing stay at Bhu Nga Thani in Krabi. I would give it a 100% overall score. The place is clean and beautiful and the staff super adorable and helpful. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful hotels on Railay beach.
    couple selfie pool villa

    girl watching the view

This is the view from the East side of Krabi… No beach, but beautiful nature and Mangrove forests…

The hotel is located right next to Railay princess on Railay East side meaning it will be just at the end of the walkway that connects with the beach. It’s also right where the East side pier to Ao Nang is, so you get to chill at your hotel right until departure.

The view gets even prettier as the sun sets and the restaurant is placed right on the edge, meaning you can stare right into the deep for as long as you need to, hehe! The view is partly covered by longtail boats and mangrove trees which is picture perfect if you ask me.

    girl in pool krabi

Loved the private pool and outside area!

    The hotel is just stunning!

girl stretching pool villa bhu nga thani

If you walk even further along the East side of Railay there’s many restaurants and bars all ranged from backpacker style to luxury. They even have a super delicious pizza restaurant and many friendly reggae bars. If you walk even further into the woods there’s also nice night hangouts but keep in mind that you will need to cover yourself completely in mosquito repellent.

birthday girl and cake in bed

Birthday girl!! Someone “forgot” to bring make-up for the trip, hehehe 😀

    Honeymoon cocktail

Cocktails with a view… this was their honeymoon cocktail and came with the room. So tasty!

The overall experience of the hotel will still be the same even if you go for the normal rooms, but if you want to make the most of it- I would recommend you to book the pool villa. We had the best time there! And OMG, the bed was super soft. There’s (obviously) a private pool but also a nicely sized jacuzzi to play around in and not to mention the nice inside and outside area to chill. It’s so worth it.

I’ll definitely stay here again during next visit.
