    Krabilicious

Thailand has a lot to offer in terms of scenery and culture and saying that you have a favourite place here might sound a bit rushed. But, there’s something special about Krabi that in, when people ask me for my favourite beach destination, Krabi is the first place that comes to mind.

Island hopping in Krabi. This is at Koh Tup.

It might not be unspoiled by tourists or even a hidden gem where it requires the help of locals to get to. If you do want that, you should go to Koh Krandan and the islands around Trang. The sunsets there are the most beautiful I’ve ever seen.

Krabi is actually quite developed and the ease of travelling there is a part of what makes it so attractive. You can literally to go there with 5 minutes of planning. Thank you internet! There are plenty of nice areas to stay depending on what you like to do, which makes it a place suitable for ANYONE.

//So happy we didn’t listen to the weather forecast. It was supposed to be raining 24/7… should have worn that sunscreen…//

There’s Ao Nang which is the “mainland” and even if it’s not the center as in Krabi town, it is the center in terms of transportation. You can get anywhere from here. This is also where the main pier to go to Railay beach is located.

For me, Ao Nang is probably not a place I would recommend to stay, but a nice place to start if you are travelling with family or you just want to relax on the beach with good restaurants, bars and nightlife.

There are plenty of daytime activities in Krabi such as The Emerald pool, island hopping, climbing, temple exploring, night markets, beaches- you can easily rent a bike anywhere to explore by yourself. Or you can rent a private (or with groups) speedboat/long tail boat.

//That climbing scenery… don’t worry. This is just the warm-up. But hello, would you like to climb on Railay beach? Check out the scenery.//

My go-to place in Krabi will always be Railay beach. I cannot go there without visiting this place. And if I didn’t know better, I would have thought Railay was an island. That’s definitely the vibe it gives you. Reggae music, endless smiles, peacefulness and perfect sandy beaches. Strolling along the beach and eating delicious seafood. And the best of all, the rock climbing opportunities. I love bumping into travelling souls along the climbing areas. Experienced climbers and first-timers alike, they all love it.

So- if you are living in Thailand or is planning to come here, do go check out this gem of a place. The accommodation is great and affordable as well!

Bhu Nga Thani and private pool villa fun

We had the most amazing stay at Bhu Nga Thani in Krabi. I would give it a 100% overall score. The place is clean and beautiful and the staff super adorable and helpful. It’s definitely one of the most beautiful hotels on Railay beach.

This is the view from the East side of Krabi… No beach, but beautiful nature and Mangrove forests…

The hotel is located right next to Railay princess on Railay East side meaning it will be just at the end of the walkway that connects with the beach. It’s also right where the East side pier to Ao Nang is, so you get to chill at your hotel right until departure.

The view gets even prettier as the sun sets and the restaurant is placed right on the edge, meaning you can stare right into the deep for as long as you need to, hehe! The view is partly covered by longtail boats and mangrove trees which is picture perfect if you ask me.

Loved the private pool and outside area!

    The hotel is just stunning!

If you walk even further along the East side of Railay there’s many restaurants and bars all ranged from backpacker style to luxury. They even have a super delicious pizza restaurant and many friendly reggae bars. If you walk even further into the woods there’s also nice night hangouts but keep in mind that you will need to cover yourself completely in mosquito repellent.

Birthday girl!! Someone “forgot” to bring make-up for the trip, hehehe 😀

    Honeymoon cocktail

Cocktails with a view… this was their honeymoon cocktail and came with the room. So tasty!

The overall experience of the hotel will still be the same even if you go for the normal rooms, but if you want to make the most of it- I would recommend you to book the pool villa. We had the best time there! And OMG, the bed was super soft. There’s (obviously) a private pool but also a nicely sized jacuzzi to play around in and not to mention the nice inside and outside area to chill. It’s so worth it.

I’ll definitely stay here again during next visit.

    Xxx

    Birthday celebrations in the rain

Too bad we forgot to ask the weather Gods for good weather for my birthday. We had rain and clouds pretty much all the time during our stay at Railay Beach. Luckily me and Tom are pretty similar and not too picky making us able to have fun pretty much anywhere and situation. Even if that means hanging out in our hotel bed laughing at dumb stuff while eating take away pizza, chips AND candies.

    couple leapkiss railay beach

How crazy is it that we got moments of sun to take our #leapkiss photo!

The first night we stayed at the Sand Sea Resort which is located right where you get off the longtail boat from Ao Nang to Railay East. I got us a room upgrade with a view and was very satisfied with it. The regular rooms on the other hand didn’t look like anything special.  BUT, great location!

    Railay Bay Krabi

Anyone that’s been to Krabi would be able to guess where this is just from looking at his photo.

The rain went away as the sun set so we still had time to chill by the beach while eating seafood and watching the fireshow. PERFECT island vibe! It’s so weird  that Krabi isn’t an island. It sure feels like it.

Railay West, compared to the East side; there’s a large beach here. Making it a lot more expensive. I dolove  the beach on the Phra Nang beach too , the suset is amazing!

The second day of our trip we actually had 3 hours of sun, so you can imagine we were at the beach soaking it all up, having ice cold juices and taking the photos we needed. At one point it got so hot we had to go to walking street to cool down. Right when the smoothie lady was saying how lucky we were with the weather…the storm arrived.

Our time on the West side and the beach had come to an end and we were finally spending some time on the East side, where (in my opinion) the fun is!Also… the food and drinks costs half the price on the East side and it’s only a 2 minute walk from the beach side. I think most people don’t realize this, as they tend to just stay on the side where they have their hotel.

I knew Tom had booked us a night at the  Bhu Nga Thani but I was super surprised when we arrived and he had booked us an amazing private pool villa. It was perfect! Especially with the weather we had. I want to keep the photos about the hotel for my next post, as it was so special it deserves a post of its own.

Love this guy with all my heart <3

Because of the weather we choose to not climb during this trip, nor do any island hopping. I think this trip just proves how amazing Krabi is though. You can have a BLAST there no matter what <3

    Until next time xxx
